Abrupt Closure of Glasgow End of Easyoffice

The Glasgow end of the office space business run by EasyOffice has come to an abrupt end with occupants receiving a 10 day notice to vacate the premises. Needless to say, the development has caused the occupants to vociferously air their complaints against being treated unfairly by the office space provider.

Neil Gilmour, owner of NRG Technology which has offices here, has said that this will affect his business adversely and will put him under immense pressure to find suitable rent a desk space nearby immediately.

He said that he had opted for EasyOffice spaces based on the company’s well established reputation for good service. He has expressed his unhappiness with the unfair treatment meted out to him by EasyOffice. Discount card company, Snapfax also has offices here making a total of 12 businesses which will be affected by the abrupt end of the EasyOffice business here.

It is speculated that Easyjet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ionanou, who also runs the EasyOffice business was unimpressed with the hiked lease cost for the building and decided to pull out instead of renewing his year long lease in this building in St Vincent’s street. This is said to be the reason behind the sudden closure of the business here.

EasyOffice started business in November 2007 and opened its Glasgow offices only a year back. While there are other EasyOffice locations in Bristol and London, the Glasgow business was touted as the beginning of a massive expansion in Scotland by Sir Stelios when he inaugurated the offices here.
