As the subject falls deeper, this lack of tension begins to spread to the shoulders and fingers. Often, this takes only a few moments. Over time, the person being hypnotized is so far submerged in a trance state that their senses only perceive whoever has hypnotized them. The well-known concept of hypnotic suggestion is available at this point, as the subconscious finds itself open to influence. When you guide your subject further into trance state, you’ll find a point beyond which they are able to disregard pain, and block other sensations, even shut away memories.
Vivid hallucinations slowly manifest the farther the subject falls into trance, and given time they will achieve a state comparable to that found in anesthesia. It’s been known for this powerful hypnotic state to be used in place of anesthetic during medical procedures.
